The Beauty and the Tray...

OK! This seems to be some weird stuff... it is!!

You know that after a wedding you throws some rice to the newly wed, don't you? So that was the tray used for making rice available to all the guests (OK OK many guests!!)

After that the girlfriend of the bride use the tray to mimic an venetian or a traditional hat... how I could lose this shot? I surely could not!

Just I did not know how to develop it... more or less contrasty? Give me an Idea^_^

Elviri's wedding - Three Cammorrists - The hired gun

That was a fucking busy day... in the morning I got some meeting at the university I cannot lose... later I got the Wedding of Simone Elviri and Donatella Bari... later on the party... next is the travel to Ancona... later still another exit with a collegue in Ancona... a F*ing busy day!

These are some shto from Elviri's Wedding - an event some of us have called "the miracle"^_^ (YKWYA!) An event I bought a Canon EF 28-135 f3.5-5.6 USM to shot^_^.

I could show you the shots from the ceremony, or the reception (I'll do that for sure^_^) but let's start with something far more scarier... some shoot of some frined coming out of the church...
Among them there are three shots of three guest that come out like those ot three Gangsters... I will not give you the real name but you'll have the honor to meet the whole clan from the guns to the belle and the boss.

The 3 man from Venice

I am part, or maybe I should tell I was part of an association to spread Intelligent Games (You know... the german or american table-top games... those with wood chips and no dice... BOoooring!!!)
I've taken more than 1000 pictures in the couple of years I was a frequent goer to their events... to say it all now I'm not playing too much but surely we had some funny moments...

One of them was when three of the "Alchemists" and the other two are a couple of friends from Castellammare di stabia...

The one in the second photo, instead, is the Ghigo's little bro... (Don't you know the Ghigo? Sorry for you!)

Both photo were shot as something to rememeber in the last moment of a game night... so tehre's little if nothing post processing at all...

Murder Party

This is one of the many (several hundreds) shots I've taken at several at the meetings of Società Alchemica, a group of people who like boardgaming and other form of gaming too!

This particular shot was taken at one of the first Murder Party when one of the organizers was reading the first event of the game (i.e. the first body to be found) starting the real game after some period to let us enter the roles.

A Murder party is an interesting way to spend a night and a cheap one too as the internet is full of plot seeds for these games.

In the shot I tried to recreate the atmophere of the declaration... using only the ambient light (a stand-up lamp standing on the floor for added effect) and setting the WB to get a hotter / hellish look.

This is not the sharpest image out there but I deemed it as not so important.

Here and Now (even better than last night)

Here I am in front of the PC.
Yesterday the light was off and I was playing to Battle For Wesnoth in my Linux box.

I find that game very intriguing... so I advise you to try it out (it's free!)!

My PC has one of those light emitting fan. I had never noticed the nice effects it have in the night.
Last night I tried to shot a photo of it...
With a screenshot of BfW it was not a reallyl inspiring one... so I got an idea.
Use the monitor of hte PC to display the image from yesterday and shoot another photo of the fan...
I would have done it on the instant but the battery was too low to shoot (not joking!)... So I had to wait...
For the second shot I have used the AF Nikkor 50mmm 1:1.4 I've bought used last week.

I've used a shutter speed of 1/25 and an ISO setting of 400 so I have succeeded in using f/4.0

3d Painting

This was in the Aula Magna of the business teaching school in Pinerolo...
There are two photos of paintings I'll show you this week (after a week without Computer as I've broken down 2 Notebooks and a Desktop).

This is an interesting idea... I do not know if this is classified as painting or sculpture... as it is not flat.. is 3.D so the shadows you see are real shadows not something paint by the artist... it interesting as the painting change slowly during the day (not only in colors!)

So this get the "interesting piece of art 2007" Award... Friday you'll see incredible colors award^_^

Delle Alpi - The Police

This is a shot of the "Delle Alpi" stadium... where the police have made their last italian live show.

I?m sorry to admit that meanwhile this shot was taken by me, I'm not the author of the composition's idea... that goes to Pino Macrì, a frined of mine (he is my comic book pusher too^_^),
While searching for the gate he proposed to make this "silhuette" photo... great idea Pino...

The shot was taken while we where moving so it is not the best shot... but it is shown here to honor the idea behind it...

Moreover this is the first of four posts on the concert... they are not the most artistic or journalistic shto of hte world... but it was a too great concert not to publish here some of it!

I'd have preferred a little more of saturation and contrast on this shot... but here it is as it was taken!
