[SEW] WTF are you doing?

We were all looking at the photo and were all crowded around a small table we used to hold plates and cameras...
meanwhile Bride and Groom were stuck with several parents maybe thirty feet away and both of them were trying to figure out what we were doing...
So... I had the camera in my hands... they had that really funny look... how could I not shooting a photo in that right moment?

obviously not!
But you do not have to be one in order to look at a photo, do you?

I tried to make them look a little Professional, a little trendy with the diagonal framing... I really like it...

The Beauty and the Tray...

OK! This seems to be some weird stuff... it is!!

You know that after a wedding you throws some rice to the newly wed, don't you? So that was the tray used for making rice available to all the guests (OK OK many guests!!)
After that the girlfriend of the bride use the tray to mimic an venetian or a traditional hat... how I could lose this shot? I surely could not!

Just I did not know how to develop it... more or less contrasty? Give me an Idea^_^

The EXIF is the same for the two photos.:

Elviri's wedding - Three Cammorrists - The hired gun

That was a fucking busy day... in the morning I got some meeting at the university I cannot lose... later I got the Wedding of Simone Elviri and Donatella Bari... later on the party... next is the travel to Ancona... later still another exit with a collegue in Ancona... a F*ing busy day!

These are some shto from Elviri's Wedding - an event some of us have called "the miracle"^_^ (YKWYA!) An event I bought a Canon EF 28-135 f3.5-5.6 USM to shot^_^.

I could show you the shots from the ceremony, or the reception (I'll do that for sure^_^) but let's start with something far more scarier... some shoot of some frined coming out of the church...
Among them there are three shots of three guest that come out like those ot three Gangsters... I will not give you the real name but you'll have the honor to meet the whole clan from the guns to the belle and the boss.

Here's the hired gun... a slightly cold blooded killer...

Ok obviously this is not the first SHOT!
it's the first photo I've took with the Idea of taking something good!

This is a Pano made of several photos (8 IIRC) with the Canon 17-40 f/4.0 L...
That is an amazing lens!! Awesome!!

This shot is the third re-post processing try^_^ The first one had a wrong PoV chosen in Hugin; The second was too less contrasty... so I went back in Bibble and re-developed the shots, later I's increased saturation, joined the shots in Hugin and, to end it alla added some vignetting in the shot as I liked it most^_^

Panorama from Gentiles' Wedding

This is one of the most worked on photo I've EVER taken EVER!!!
I was at the wedding of a friend as a guest and decided to take a shot of the night pano from the restaurant...
IT WAS f*ing difficult...
I was with a D300 and the AF-S 18-200 f3.5-5.6... I was unsure if I could crank ISOs too high and there were no place were the lean or were to rest the camera in order to frame the shot as I liked!

I took maybe 30 different takes of this same shot and each time I had to chimp at 100% zoom in order to comprehend if the shot was blurred... in the end I decided to go with an higher ISO and later clean the photo in Noise Ninja... after that I cropped the photo in order to have a 2:1 aspect ratio... and It was not enough.. I had to print it 2 times as the printer get several "banding lines" on the print (obviously as it was not my fault I had not to pay twice for it^_^).

In the version of the shot I have here there's not info in the EXIF so just enjoy the photo -_^.

AIDEA Giovani 1

These are two shot made on Commission for AIDEA (Associazione Italiana Dottori in Economia Aziendale) Giovani.

They were to have a conference in my university and asked me for something "Naples" to use as a banner on the conference poster...

I proposed to shot something for them and  I got out to shoot something classic "Vesuvio" the sleeping volcano near Naples... I proprosed two different shots...
I really prefer the second one... it has stunning details and a broader perspective you can fall into... but they chose the first one.

Both shots were taken with the Nikkor AF-D 28-105 f3.5-4.5 an astounding lens I was lucky to get cheap^_^.

Postprocessing them was easy than before as I used Hugin^_^ After joining the shots I just used some filters to enhance colors and contrast and make them more post-card like^_^

I do not know why but I have no EXIF embedded in this shot... :(

Mergellina

I believe it was July when I decided one morning to take my cheap tripod, and go haveing some photo fun at the first rays of light....

That morning I took several shots of boats, ships, seagulls BIF.. and tried my hand (and the tripod) to a Pano... it has been one of my favorite shots ever since!

It's a huge pano made of 5 shots (or maybe six) taken with the AF-D 50mm f1/1.4 and composed togheter BY HAND in GIMP... FAR MORE DIFFICULT than I tought it would have been

I needed the whole morning (5 or 6 hours!) just to align them correctly... luckily the AF-D 50 mm f1/1.4 has not that much distortion to correct^_^

This panorama is high 2532 pixel... so in the original there's far more detail than in this scaled down version^_^

The 3 man from Venice

I am part, or maybe I should tell I was part of an association to spread Intelligent Games (You know... the german or american table-top games... those with wood chips and no dice... BOoooring!!!)
I've taken more than 1000 pictures in the couple of years I was a frequent goer to their events... to say it all now I'm not playing too much but surely we had some funny moments...

One of them was when three of the "Alchemists" and the other two are a couple of friends from Castellammare di stabia...

The one in the second photo, instead, is the Ghigo's little bro... (Don't you know the Ghigo? Sorry for you!)

BFS - Bread

Looking how I can enhance results composing the food on the plate... I decided to try my hand at it with the Bread.

Some friend of mine gave me a Bread baking machine (It's really simple to operate... just puor the ingredients you fine on the recipe book in the bucket and it will give you a piece of bread 3 hours later^_^).... So we were (ant we still are!) baking our own bread.

I decided to frame the shot in diagonal cutting some big bread slices an using a wood plate (it is specifically designed for cutting bread upon it but I do not know the English word (neither the Italian one to say the full truth!) for it!
For shooting it I used the Nikon 50 mm f/1.4
In post production I went for a low contrast development in order to enhance the feeling of smoothness... following a similar Idea I desaturated the image a little...

I jumped on the occasion in order to confront my self with still-life food photo... It was a failure!

I had only a flash and used the AF-S 18-200 in order to take the shot... it is not a good photo and moreover I used the red-eye reduction (Why on the earth I did something like that?)..

An Early Spring Flower ^_^

After the game we went to the "3rd Half!" a moment of friendship and nearness between supporters of both teams (and the teams themselves share some time together!).

While we were leaving the stadium (the 3rd half place was out there!) We met several welsh dressed up in costumes... I resisted the urge to shot the first few of them... till I saw this lady...

I could not missed this lovely flower, Could I?

She was realy lovely to pose for me :)...

To say it all I do not like this PPing... There's to much unreal vignetting ant it does not really enhance the shoot... but this was how it worked out... today would have been different or I' would have tried to PP it in a more subtle way...

This is one of the things I like the most in rugby!
You can literally seat side by side with other team's supporter and there are not any problem at all.

Moreover there are several really funny people seeing the match!

This guy was seated near us and it was dressed up as a dragon with the wales shirt!

This is the first shot of these strange dresses they wore!

Marcato's 3 points!

I clearly remember this shot... how could I forgot it!

Italy was playing a good game but not getting any try out ouf our plays (as usual I should say!). Welsh actions grant us a kick on the 40 meters line and near the touch line (12 meter in the field I would say)... We all believed it would have used the kick to move the game nearer the tryzone...

Andrea Marcato and some other Italian players are discussing...

Marcato raise his hand and point to the goal... I'll try to go for three points? it's a 46 meter long kick with a wild angle!!
This shot is the moment of the kick...

2 seconds later all the stadium was cheering (Welsh too!) for the really good kick...

I took the shot with the Sigma 70-300 and I set it to 70 in order to get an idea of the relative positions of Marcato and of the goal.

Sorry but it's a normal photo not a magical one like in Harry Potter\

These are the very first two shots of the game.
Italy open on the open side and after 1 pass it feints and change direction for Mirko Bergamasco that was launched forward.

It was a clear deliberate scheme the tean had decided to use... it went well... but even with the 6 shots /sec of Nikon D300... there was not enough frames to have a movie.

A can show you two frames of that action^_^ bot of them were taken with the SIGMA 70-300 4-5.6 APO one of hte cheapest lens out there!

Yes.. please... tell me...

Ok let me start with saying this shot is an intentional one... mainly street but alla I'll say its the truest truth!

The guy on the left is a friend of mine (Enzo Amato? do you remember?) that day we decided to go seeing a 6 nations rugby match  Italy vs Galles.
We already knew Italy's chance of winning were dim at the max :.( but you did not go to a rugby match onyl to see your team prevail... it's more a party thing!

So we got there... and started looking for two other guys from Rome that were to come with us.
I carried the camera open and ready with the neck strap on... and I saw this scene...
Enzo was looking for our friends (looking toward the stadium) and not more than a meter away another man was looking for someone in the opposite directions...

It really seems the two are talking... but they have to said a single word in that moment... it's a street or not!!

Sempre sia lodata...

Another shot from the trip to Bologna...

I really do not know what told me to shot this... maybe the contrast... I really do not know... I like the photo and I think  this is enough for me^_^
The matte homogeneous color in the sky is what has convenced me to blog it^_^

Torre dell'asinello

This is another classical shot of Bologna from the same day as the shot before.
This is the Torre dell'Asinello (Little Donkey Tower) near P.zza Maggiore.

If you go there you'll have to try this shot but it will be far better to carry with you a perspective correction lens as the other building are far too near to get a good sight...
